New York MFO looking at US lower mid-market PE, VC

July 23, 2024

Multi-family office Beatrice Advisors is evaluating opportunities in US lower mid-market private equity, as well as venture capital.

Beatrice Advisors was founded in June by Christina Lewis to serve clients who are historically unadvised or under-advised. Lewis is the daughter of Reginald Lewis, who built the first Black-owned billion-dollar company in TLC Beatrice International.

CIO Meredith Bowen most recently worked at $6.4bn MFO Seven Bridges Advisors alongside founder and CEO Laurence Cohen, managing client portfolios and becoming a partner in 2022. She also has a background in hedge funds, having headed the managed account platform at the Man Group.

Bowen told With Intelligence that privately owned US businesses were a key asset class for the firm’s high net worth clients.

“I believe that for large, sophisticated families, owning small, US-based profitable businesses is a sound long-term exposure to maintain in portfolios,” said CIO Meredith Bowen.
