A legacy of enterprise and clear thinking
Beatrice Advisors takes its name from TLC Beatrice International, once the largest Black-owned business in the United States. In 1987, TLC Group, L.P., was founded by the late Reginald F. Lewis, a groundbreaking lawyer and entrepreneur. His acquisition of Beatrice International Foods became the largest offshore leveraged buyout by an American company.
After Mr. Lewis’s passing in 1993, his widow, Loida Lewis, became chief executive. She oversaw the successful liquidation of the company in 1999, returning meaningful value to shareholders. Their approach—discipline, judgment, and long‑term orientation—remains foundational to how we think at Beatrice Advisors today.
Why christina built Beatrice
Christina Lewis founded Beatrice Advisors after years of managing her own family’s financial affairs and working closely with various families, founders, and organizations. Through these experiences, she saw persistent gaps in traditional wealth management:
Beatrice Advisors was created as a modern alternative: an investment‑led multi-family office that integrates portfolio construction, tax‑aware strategy, and coordinated advisory into a single, thoughtful system. The firm reflects Christina’s belief that families deserve clarity, institutional‑level thinking, and execution that matches the complexity of their lives.
